Concussion Detector

What?
I did a consulting project for a startup making a concussion sensor with indicator lights. Starting with just an idea, I designed and fabricated a functional prototype. I iterated the design until it fit the desired mechanical form factor and met cost requirements.
Why?
Athletes who play contact sports like football and hockey need to know if they've suffered a serious concussion, a mild concussion, or no concussion so they can take appropriate time off to prevent brain damage.
How?
I designed all aspects of circuitry, did PCB layout, specified all parts, and wrote all firmware. I also optimized for low power draw. The design included sensors, analog circuitry, microcontroller, LEDs, and a battery. I ran cost analyses for the product at high volume and went back and forth with decision makers on features vs. cost.
